All the Species

Here you will find files with all the species lists that the Lead Scientists submitted after the BioBlitz. In some cases, it was not possible for the scientists to identify specimen to species and you will find that they have sorted the specimen by morphospecies (as the Hymenoptera report shows) or identified and listed them at the level of genus or family. In addition to the names of the species (or morphospecies, genus, etc), the scientists have reported the methods used by their team, names of team members, total number of people-hours spent collecting data, and other comments about their findings. Teams that set out traps to sample species (as the Mammal Team did) have also included maps showing where the traps were located. Click on the name of each Taxonomic Group below to see all the details.

* Identifying spiders to the genus or species level is extremely difficult, requiring microscopic examination of genitalia. On November 1, 2005, when this table was updated, the spider team was still identifying specimen collected during the BioBlitz.

With thanks to...
The Science Working Group designed the BioBlitz procedures, conducted orientation sessions for Lead Scientists, and coordinated the scientific aspects of the BioBlitz. Thanks to the following for leading this effort: Mark Brennan and Theresa Glowacki, Boulder County Parks & Open Space Dept; Ken Foelske and Randy Frank, Jefferson County Open Space; Lynn Riedel and Don D'Amico, City of Boulder Open Space & Mtn Parks; Eric Stone and Amy Thornburg, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service; Denise Culver, Colorado Natural Heritage Program; John Rampe, Department of Energy; Tom Ranker, Rob Guralnick and Will Roberts, University of Colorado Museum. Will Roberts compiled lists of species for each team using species lists and reports submitted by participating agencies and organized the reports of Lead Scientists for this Website.
